10 years of Unifrog
6th November 2023
From humble beginnings as a simple tool to help students choose universities for UCAS and compare apprenticeships, to becoming the universal destinations platform, Unifrog has come a long way in 10 years.
We now work with over 2,500 UK schools and colleges, 800 international schools, 150 universities, and 60 employer partners to build meaningful connections and collaborative projects that help young people make informed decisions about their future.
10 years of our global team
Unifrog has grown from two co-founders to 91 dedicated team members, working across offices in London, Hong Kong, and Edinburgh. We also have members of the team based all over the world including Paris, Copenhagen, and Bogota!
Our commitment to putting people first has been recognised with a range of awards, including Escape The City’s ‘Top 100 Organisations to Escape to’ and Great Place to Work’s ‘Best Workplaces for Women’ this year.
10 years of our mission
One thing that has not changed (and never will) is our mission to level the playing field for all young people across the globe to help them find their best next steps.
Each year, Unifrog helps make sure that 4,000 fewer students become NEET (not in education, employment, or training) in the UK alone. Our mission to eliminate the destinations gap between young people from different socio-economic backgrounds drives all our decisions and shapes the platform to be as useful to students as possible.
Alaina Wood, Head of Sixth Form at Bluecoat Aspley Academy, is one of our longest-standing partners in the UK. Her students have been using Unifrog for eight years to find their best next steps:
“I love tapping in to the student tools when I’m working one-on-one with students and showing them the wealth of careers knowledge at their fingertips! The growth in videos and labour market information has made the platform so much more interactive and engaging over the years, but the really fancy bit is all the recording and data that we can pull out of Unifrog.”

We achieved B Corp status with our positive social impact and our sustainable, inclusive, and ethical working practices that we strive to improve year after year.
We’ve also provided bespoke, in-person onboarding and training to schools all over the world on how best to support their hardest-to-reach students. Through partnerships with international schools, we work together to make a difference in local communities and achieve educational equity for all.
10 years of our platform
We’re proud of how much students enjoy using the Unifrog platform. Back in 2013, we had 724 active student users. A decade later, 1.7 million students are logging in to explore opportunities, create shortlists, make applications, and get in contact with universities and employers.
The number of tools on the platform has also grown, from 1 to 39. From the Placements tool for work experience, to our smart Common App and Parchment integrations, to Courses offering engaging tasters of university subjects and careers (coming soon), we will continue to develop Unifrog based on the needs of our students, teachers, and counselors.
Jason Mungles, Head of University & Career Counselling at Sotogrande International School, has used Unifrog at his school for nearly a decade:
“Unifrog works and listens to counselors. The company is always innovating and new ideas and tools come online on a regular basis. The one thing though that I really love about Unifrog is the way my students are able to take ownership of their own research, and log and develop their own routes.”
- Jason Mungles, Head of University & Career Counselling, Sotogrande International School (Unifrog partner since 2015)
10 years of events
In the past decade, Unifrog has run 340 in-person and virtual events including fairs, conferences, networking events, workshops, and webinars. Through these, we’ve connected 24,000 students, teachers, and counselors with employers and universities around the globe.
Kim Zwitserloot, International Recruitment at University College Utrecht, has worked with Unifrog on various events and resources about studying in the Netherlands:
“It is clear that you care tremendously about providing support to students and teachers in the best way possible. There is a true dedication to helping students find the best place for them. Unifrog is constantly trying out new ways to help to get students in touch with the right programmes for them.”
- Kim Zwitserloot, International Recruitment, University College Utrecht (Unifrog partner since 2017)
10 years of best next steps
This year’s graduating cohort shortlisted three million university courses, apprenticeships, and other destination opportunities on Unifrog. Creating shortlists is a key way for students to take ownership of their research and application journeys, and we’ll continue to encourage and provide them with opportunities for meaningful interactions with universities and employers.
Alexandra is a student whose Unifrog journey led her to studying languages at the University of Cambridge:
“With Unifrog, I was able to weigh up all my options and ended up choosing a path I hadn’t expected to take. Throughout the UCAS application process, I turned to Unifrog for information on the process of applying to Oxbridge, and also to use the Personal Statement tool and browse the Careers library. I feel very fortunate that my school provided this platform. Unifrog gave me greater ambitions for my future and provided me with the tools I needed to make a competitive, and ultimately successful, application to the University of Cambridge.”

EY has worked with us as an employer partner on a range of events, webinars, and resources to help students get into accountancy and consultancy. Unifrog is proud to be EY's ‘Early Careers Partner of the Year 2023’:
“We have been working with Unifrog for three recruitment cycles now and we continue to grow this partnership. Unifrog were awarded our “partnership of the year” mainly due to over-achieving the targets set through our activity. Our account manager Caroline has been fantastic throughout, super communicative, provides consistent excellent data insights and regularly comes up with new ideas to support us across all facets of our recruitment strategy. We are looking forward to continuing to develop this partnership as Unifrog continues to grow and establish new initiatives to reach the next generation of early talent joining EY.”
- Rebecca Sinclair, Student Talent Attraction and Acquisition, EY (Early Careers Partner of the Year 2023)
Looking ahead
“It’s amazing for us to see how Unifrog has grown - from when on our honeymoon we were imagining how a UK uni search tool could work! Every phase of Unifrog’s journey has sparked new ideas, and now after 10 years it’s no different. In the next few years we are excited about helping both younger students - before they’ve started secondary school – and older students – once they’ve left. We want to support schools to build stronger relationships with their alumni, and we’d love to develop teacher training that will help put careers guidance at the heart of school life.”
- Alex and Coralie, Founders of Unifrog
