“I don’t want to come on too strong but for both students and teachers Unifrog is liberating, exciting and rewarding!”

Stuart Miller, Head of Science & Biology, Deputy Head 6th Form and Higher Education Advisor

The need

“Before Unifrog, my biggest problem was ensuring that students could find information on the wide range of opportunities available to them.

For example, if students decide to apply to university in the U.S., they need to choose a sensible set of universities to apply to. Previously they would rely on anecdotal information and apply mainly to Ivy League universities, and then struggle to get in. One of the biggest things I want for my students is for them to be able to choose from a wide array of universities, and make strategic choices. Unifrog’s smart system of collating all available opportunities, and then allowing students to compare them on lots of useful datapoints - is an elegant solution to this problem.”

The solution

“Unifrog is brilliant at compiling everything into a single platform. 3 years ago, we were at a conference where Nick from Unifrog presented, I was previously sceptical but this information session really sold it to us. Unifrog seemed to be brilliant at centralizing reports, reference writing, along with a robust apprenticeship search. Unifrog’s interface is very nice and the support is superb, every time we have had a concern they have got back to us in less than 24 hours.”

Favourite features

“Time saving. Students begin looking at their destinations a lot earlier and from home. They look more closely at where they could go, and also more widely. This - along with the Personal Statement and References tools - have certainly taken a lot of work off the teachers.

I don’t want to come on too strong but for both students and teachers Unifrog is liberating, exciting and rewarding!”

Top Tip

“With Unifrog, students can start searching a lot younger. My tip is to get students using the platform lower down the school - even in Key Stage 3. This will help them make good GCSE choices, and if they are excited about what they might go on to do after school they will be motivated to work harder for their exams.”
