Unifrog recruitment process: Stage 3 INTERVIEW
Find out more about what to expect in an interview at Unifrog
Interviews typically last between 45-60 minutes and include a range of different types of questions (listed below) and often a task.
Types of interview questions
- Motivation questions - designed to understand your motivations to want to work at Unifrog and to be in the role you are applying for.
- Competency questions - examples of times they have demonstrated some of the skills outlined on the job description.
- We recommend using the STAR technique when answering this type of question
- S - what was the situation?
- T - what was the task?
- A - what actions did you take?
- R - what was the the result, is there anything that went well, or could have gone better?
- We recommend using the STAR technique when answering this type of question
- Scenario questions - understanding what you would do if you were faced with different scenarios in the role.
- We recommend taking your time to consider what you might do in each situation (feel free to make notes or ask us to repeat the question)
- Consider:
- Is there additional information you might need to know?
- Is there anything you would need to prioritise?
- Which stakeholders might you need to consider or keep informed?
- Why you have decided to take this course of action?
- Is there anything that you would do after you have taken action?
- Be mindful that we have usually 9-12 questions to ask, so do give us detail, but if you're spending over 5 minutes on an answer, it's probably time to wrap things up!
Task
We sometimes include a short task at the start of an interview. The type of task will vary depending on the role, but it might include:
- A 10 minute demonstration of one of the tools on the Unifrog platform (we will provide access to the platform, and guidance on how to use the tool)
- A short pre-prepared presentation on a specific topic
- An in-tray exercise
How to prepare
- Familiarise yourself with the role you are applying to. Read over the job description and remind yourself of what the role entails and what skills we are looking for.
- Get to know Unifrog - check out our website and LinkedIn page.
- Think about your most relevant experience or achievements you are most proud of. Write them down in the STAR layout, and practice saying them out loud. Would someone hearing this for the first time understand what the situation was, and what part you played?
- Write down any questions that you want to ask the interview panel about Unifrog, or the role you are applying to.
