Unifrog recruitment process: Stage 2 TASK / TASK INTERVIEW
Find out about the type of task you may be asked to complete as part of your application
The type of task / task interview will depend on the role you're applying for. This page gives some examples of tasks we have used in the past, and some top tips!
About this stage
If you've been successful with your written application, we will invite you to the second stage of the recruitment process through an email that we send via Applied. The email will explain exactly what the next stage will entail.
Depending on the role you're applying for, the next stage will be to do a task, a ‘task interview’ via phone call, or a more regular sort of interview by phone call.
If we invite you to a phone interview or a phone task, we aim to give you at least 48 hours to prepare. We'll send you various options for when you want to schedule your phone interview / phone task.
If we've asked you to submit a task, we aim to to give you at least 4 days to complete it (usually including a weekend).
Tips for tasks
- Read over the task instructions carefully; if anything is unclear or you are unsure what is expected of you, make sure to get in touch!
- Consider what skills you want to demonstrate and how you could do this. You might want to review the job description to remind yourself of the key skills needed in the role, as these will be what we assess in the task.
- If you have been asked to submit a piece of work, proofread your work to check for mistakes.
- You should also check that the task meets the requirements in the instructions; for example, we may have specified the file type we require the task to be in.
- Make sure we can access any links or files you might have uploaded as part of your task by editing the permissions.
- If you have a phone task or phone interview, think about any questions you might have for us! We will always try to leave time at the end.
Example tasks / task interviews
Please note that we may adapt these tasks from time to time, so if you are applying for one of the roles listed above, it is possible that the task might be slightly different.
Account Manager
A 5 minute role play task, speaking with a Careers leader at ‘Green Academy’. The school is not engaging well with the Unifrog platform, which is the reason for your call. Your aim is to find out their barriers to engagement (e.g. lack of time in the curriculum to run careers lessons), provide suggestions for solutions and secure a follow up call where you can review their progress.
Area Manager
A 5 minute role play task, speaking with a Careers leader at ‘Green Academy’, a partner school that are unsure if they want to resubscribe. You have managed to secure a phone call with them. Your job is to understand the barriers and convince them to resubscribe!
Events Lead
A 15 minute phone interview to hear more about your motivations, understanding of the role, and relevant experience.
Head of Higher Education Partnerships
A short role play discussing Unifrog with the Head of Marketing at a university that's interested in Unifrog but wants to speak on the phone before committing to what we call a demonstration (a 1 hour meeting to discuss how Unifrog's partnership offering could benefit their institution).
Data Analyst
Respond to a request from the Head of UK School Partnerships using insights from a provided data file. The request has multiple parts and is as follows:
- Are we on track to achieve our goal of 75% of students logging into Unifrog this year?
- Is there sufficient evidence to suggest that the KS5 login rates of sixth-form colleges (KS5-only schools) are different from other schools?
- Area Managers review their schools each month to determine which ones require extra support. Using the data provided, could you create a usable file highlighting schools needing attention for Area Managers to use in their monthly reviews?
Marketing Lead
Unifrog are hosting an in-person conference for UK teachers and careers leaders in London on 23rd May. This is a real event for which you can find the details on our website. We’d like you to draft the copy for an initial email promoting the event to our employer partners, encouraging them to exhibit at the event.
Teaching Resources Creator
Use a PowerPoint template we provide to create a complete, standalone lesson PowerPoint to meet the following CDI learning aims for Key Stage 1:
- exploring how working life is changing for people now
- being aware of how scientific and technological aids help people do their work
Assistant Video Editor
Piece together a short, engaging video using files we have provided. We'd like to see an edit of around 1-2 minutes aimed at an audience aged between 14-18.
